Hello,

Please could you tell me when Kit-Kat will be available for my Note 2 over Kies or OTA?

Thanks,

Yes I know you can go sim only but O2 presumably make money selling phones with their new split tarrif so why dont they just supply a generic phone rather than a branded version then as long as they kept their uapps up to date the rest would be up to phone maker?

Anyone at all heard anything on progress to Kit Kat for note 2?

On O2........Nope 😞

OK I now think we can agree that o2 is not going to update the Note 2 to Kit Kat and it's o2's decision and nobody else's no matter what they with try and say about this. Samsung released the KIT Kat update to UK carriers in June and all other UK carriers have updated their customers Note 2's.
Sad to think customers to o2 mean nothing.

ok got my hands on a Samsung doc from someone who is 95% right on these things, Note 2 to Lollipop is not on it and there is also no footnote saying other devices may be added in due course. January 2015 is the first dates for Lollipop updates

I didn't expect Samsung to support it any longer but there will be plenty of options on XDA soon enough wink

Running 4.4.2 on the Note 2 and just had a 84mb update to 'improve stability'. Anyone know exactly what it's for apart from the obvious?

It attaches a pair of training wheels to the sides of the device.
They can be withdrew by pressing the recent apps button twice.

As yours is a Thai phone it could be for anything - Can't see anything obvious in the usual places but it may come to other markets soon......

Had an online chat if you can call it that and after being told how they had to check that Kit Kat worked and more total nonsense still could not get a reason why they virtually alone in the universe have not got round to release could not get any sense as to why so long but was happy to be told that as I had set my phone to auto update it would do just that but no idea when as they are working on it.

It doesn't bode well that they haven't released it yet. Perhaps @Chris_K has some further info?
