KITKAT for Samsung S4 Mini?

Anonymous
Not applicable

The last post I can find on availability of KITKAT for the S4 mini was back in March. There are signs that it is being rolled out elsewhere. Anybody know when it is going to be available? I am keen to upgrade as my partner and I have both being using Kies but now he has upgraded to an S4 with KITKAT we can no longer both use it as KITKAT needs a different version...and one can't (unless someone can tell me otherwise) have two versions of Kies on the same computer.

I'm sure @Chris_K will let us know as soon as he knows slight_smile

I see on Sammobile that other networks and countries are getting 4.4.2 for the S4 mini. Notably Vodafone in the UK. We're still waiting for an update from O2.

I've posted here in the faint hope that a few voices here might sway a £3bn company!

You will get it as soon as O2 have finished testing it.... no sooner than that I'm afraid.

I see O2 have launched the update for the S4mini 'black edition' before other models.  Other networks did the same.

Slightly concerning that http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ lists the O2 update for the black edition as version 4.2.2, that's not kitkat.

The latest I can see is:

No mention of KitKat or Black Edition anywhere?

Are you looking at the correct country code?

Sorry, I missed out the word "Germany"!

We'll have to wait and see if that's the start of the "upgrade" roll out, or if its a minor tweak with the real 4.4 coming soon.

I thought that's what happened.
As O2-UK and O2-DE are totally independent of each other, it means nothing, I'm afraid.....

Updates are popping up around the world.  I see 3 have joined Vodafone with 4.4.2 in the UK but there's no generic BTU for the UK. Tantilsingly O2 in Ireland have also updated.

Anyway the cool kids now have lollipops!
