Htc one - microphone problems in call

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi,

I've had a few frustrating chats online and in store regarding my htc.

Phone calls connect but there's no sound on my end unless I shout. It's been intermittent for a month or so. Have reset it and so on.

I've been given the option of return for repair (fair enough) or claim on the insurance and pay any excess.

I use an arriva mobile ticket app and simply put am not going to buy another ticket. The replacement phones are basic dumbphones.

Am I really limited to claiming insurance and paying excess or going under warranty and doubling up on my travel expenses?

Either that or buy the mic and replace it yourself.
Other options may include borrowing a smartphone off someone in the interim ?

Thanks for your reply. I don't know anyone with a spare smartphone. Other options?

Of the phone isn't 2 years old contact HTC directly. O2 repairers will tell you it's water damage. If you need to pay and it's over 2 years old then go to an independent repairer.

Have you checked if the mic hole is blocked or covered by anything?
