HTC Sensation and another gripe

Hi there

I have a HTC Sensation (the first batch, not the XE or the XL) and have experienced the common reboot error that many people have had - the phone will just turn off whilst I am using it.

I've sent the phone off to BOTH HTC and O2 to be repaired, one after the other. And after about 2 - 3 weeks of my phone working absolutely fine the problem starts again, and now when I'm out my phone is pretty much unusable. When I received my phone from my O2 store I was given a letter which mentions a 90 day guarantee. The letter dates 24th May, which is 20 days ago. Since the problem came back last week that makes it a lot less than the 90 days "guaranteed".

I went into the same O2 store on Monday (June 11th) and asked them about this. They said that all they could do is send it off to be fixed again. I have a couple of issues with this.

  • It will be "repaired" and then not work in three weeks time.
  • The total time that my phone has been repaired for is around 3 - 4 weeks. Almost a month of a phone contract, which is £35 a month.
  • This cycle will go on until I've lost my warranty, resulting in the phone "repair" costing money, which on my first enquiry was £96.

I'm posting here to ask really if anyone has had the same problem and whether they have had it resolved in a less provocative manner. Or if any of the O2 employees can shed some light on this and my 90 day guarantee, that hasn't really worked, and how I'm supposed to go for the next 14 months of my contract with a phone that doesn't work and won't repair!

Note, I REALLY don't want to hear that the phone needs to be sent off for repair again. And seeing as it is a problem with the HTC Sensation make I do not want a like for like replacement, where this is just going to start again. Stressing the second bullet point that I have mentioned.

If you've made it this far thanks for reading and thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: HTC Sensation and another gripe

Hi there,

Can you tell us how long you've had the HTC (ideally the date you upgraded to the phone)

Also was the handset brand new or refurbished?

Thanks,

Becky
