Galaxy S5 broken screen

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello

So I upgrade to an S5... I have it all of 10 days and because I am an absolute klutz, I go and stupidly drop it on my concrete fireplace and crack the screen 😞 Can anyone give me any advice on where/how I can get it repaired, and likely costs?

There's no liquid leakage as far as I can tell, and the touch screen function still works but there are two spiderweb-like cracks. Any tips gratefully received!

O2 repairers will give you a quote to fix it which you can choose to accept or not, otherwise seek out a Samsung repair centre such as CPW or off their website http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/servicelocation/
It's important to get an approved repairer or your warranty will be voided.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Personally, with the age of the phone I would have it repaired by samsung to keep the warranty.

Check home insurance for personal items or bank accounts as they have cover sometimes. There would be an excess to pay though.

Plus they cannot guarantee the waterproofing after a repair. Only Samsung approved can perform vacuum tests post repair.

Brilliant, thank you both very much for your advice.  I really can't believe that I dropped it, I'm normally so careful with my phone...  *goes and sits in a corner in shame* slight_smile

Haha, I have a case! (but here's where I admit it isn't one that protects the screen) ... Next time I will definitely invest in an S-View case. Off to phone my insurance... fingers crossed!
