Galaxy S4 problems

Hi there,

My girlfriend is having severe problems with her new Galaxy S4.

The phone randomly will not accept calls "it has not been possible to connect your call, please try again later" and text messages will not get through to her (even though she can send them).

Then randomly she will receive text messages in the middle of the night that have been sent hours before, some don't ever get through.

We took it back into the store (both o2 and Carphone Warehouse) and a new simcard was given, tried that, was ok for a day or two then stopped working again. Took it back into the store, they handed out a new phone. Same repeated. Went back into the store again, they advised sending it off for "repair" and we are now waiting for it to return.

In the mean time, she is back to using her very old phone Samsung SA800 I think?! and using the same simcard from her S4. We have had absolutely no problems using this phone which makes me obviously think that this is a phone issue.

On a side note, on the exact same day as her, I also bought an S4 and have had absolutely no problems.

I'm completely stumped and therefore any advise or help would be appreciated. Absolutely fuming that after signing up for a new more expensive contract that the phone will not work as it's supposed to and both o2 and Carephone Warehouse keep fobbing us off.

Thanks.

Bandofbrothers - I know exactly what you mean. I owned an iPhone 3GS for around 3 years before this without any issues at all. Even though personally I've had no issues with my S4 it's still not painting a very pretty picture for Samsung with all that's gone on.

For some reason I just fancied a change and I remember looking at the iPhone 5 in the store at the time.

Whenever I go in there now the iPhone just mocks me ha ha!

With apple care + if you take it up with a small excess fee yes or if only in 12 months (even tho I've known apple to swap out after 12 months ) they offer a replacement on their out if warranty service with fee.

Back on topic. wink

I've been looking at the Samsung Galaxy s5 but with issues like these it's not giving me confidence in their after sales support structure. 😞

2 years free with Samsung and less initial outlay on hardware costs....

Quite going off topic because you can't win the warranty argument wink

The issue is with O2 support, not with Samsung. Personally I would be dealing directly with them.

I must admit the phone itself is really impressive. The display and quickness has impressed me the most. But i'd think twice in future with all this that's gone on, it easily could happen to anyone. I still don't understand why my phone is fine.

It certainly is a conundrum.

I'm not trying to win any warranty argument. A warranty is only as good as the company deals with any issue. Apple are unsurpassed in customer service.

Anyway I hope this resolves one way or another. I hope this hasn't tainted your next choice of phone.
