Fire phone not sending text messages

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have recently purchased a Fire Phone and, whilst it is a very impressive phone, it does not send text messages.

When I hit the send button, a warning triangle appears next to the message and it does not go anywhere.

In the 'info about my device' setting, it is not showing my phone number saying it is unable to read from sim, although the IMEI number is showing.

Could this be a dodgy sim?

It's normal that the phone number isn't shown as it isn't written to the sim card.
For the message proble you need to check the message centre number:
The message service centre settings are as follows:

+447802000332 for Pay Monthly
or
+447802092035 for Pay & Go

You'll need to check that the message centre number starts with +44 and not 0044

I may be being really stupid here, but I can't find anywhere to change the Message Centre Number on my Fire Phone, as I'm having the same problem.  I can change it my other devices, but the option does not appear to be anywhere...  As far as I know I have the latest OS.  Am I missing something really obvious here? slight_smile
