Can't use mobile data - Redmi Note 2

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi i am hoping someone can help me.

I own a redmi note 2 and am running android: 5.0.2 LRX22G

                                                                          MIUI GLOBAL 7.5 stable

I have no problems with using wi-fi and no problems there but i can never use mobile data. All that happens when i select mobile data is i see a capital "H" and a greyed out "L" and reverse upside down "L" next to each other which will occasionly light up then fade out again.

I have tried a factory reset and the APN as described in this page http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/Why-is-my-phone-using-data-when-I-m-no...

I am have 500mb of data left but i can never use it and rely on wi-fi hope someone can help.

Thanks,

Mike

hi thanks for the replies guys.

i tried what you suggested in this thread

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/Can-t-access-data-internet-when-not-in...

I then did a factory reset after backing up. i then moved my o2 4g sim into slot 2 went into settings- sim cards & mobile networks - sim 2 - access point names - (mine say) O2 mobile web, o2 prepay and tesco i then enabled o2 prepay by pressing and holding on it.

Then i tried enabling mobile data and it worked and still works

Is this due to what you posted in the other thread? If so many thanks.

Many thanks for the quick responses guys

Cheers,
Mike

2g and 3g will work fine but 4g only on Band 3 1800.
As the H is showing it would indicate the phone can see the data connection so I guess it's just a small setting adjustment required.
Also check your dual sim settings to ensure data is enabled on the sim slot you are using.

It's the dual sim settings that have the option to enable data on either sim - it catches a lot of people out.
