Bluetooth Audio HTC ONE M7 (occasional skipping / dropouts after lollipop update)

Anonymous

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this ?
I use Bluetooth to stream Spotify to a Pro-ject Bluetooth Box S at home, a Roksan K3 Amp at work and an Alpine Headunit in my car.
Before lollipop, everything was fine, but since Lollipop I get the occasional glitch/skip/dropout, it's certainley not constant, but it's there and it's annoying. Just wondered if anyone else had happened upon this feature, and if you've resolved it ?

Usual steps have been taken, e.g. Device full hard factory reset after Lollipop install, remove all BT paired devices etc.

Cheers - Dave.B

Well, just had my HTC One M9 delivered, so we'll see if it does the same thing, if it eventually manages to update apps from the Google Play store, which seems a little constipated at the moment.

Well, whatever was causing it on the M7, doesn't infect the M9.

Will keep it open until I find a fix for the M7 though.

Spoke to soon, although as not as bad as the M7 there is still an issue streaming spotify content over bluetooth, will copy some proper audio over the M9 and give that a go to see if the fault lies with Spotify or Bluetooth.

I also notice with sadness that my old charger at work that quite happily sat there charging my M7 all day does not do the same with the M9.... I'm guessing this may be to do with the addition of the quick charging circuit and there being more of a current draw on the charging device - will have to track down some spec to compare the two devices unless someone knows it off the top of their head ! (interestingly the battery icon shows that its charging - but its lost 8% in the 4 hours I've had it connected at my desk this afternoon).

Oh, and I keep on going for the power button on the top which isn't there - plonker....psu_phone_usb.jpg

0.5 amp ain't enough mate - you need a 2a output these days.
